Central Methodist Live@Central will feature local history on Wednesday

Live@Central! continues on Wednesday, Jan. 24, with Steven Mott, Curator of the Florence County Museum.

Mott has an intense interest in the back stories of Florence. This evening, he will address the story of the internationally famous Florence family of luthiers. Florentine Charlie Smith was not only a railroad engineer, but he and his sons Edward and Robert were famous worldwide as luthiers. There will be a question and answer opportunity.

The free public program will be held in Spears Fellowship Hall at Central United Methodist Church on the corner of West Cheves and South Irby streets in downtown Florence, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Dinner (optional) will be served at 5:15 p.m. The meal cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children (12 and under).
