FLT Golden Readers

on Wednesday, 31 January 2018. Posted in News, Arts & Culture, Local News

Florence Little Theatre’s Golden Readers will present an afternoon of humorous stories on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 3 p.m.
Tickets are free  and will be required as seating is assigned.
Rebecca Sowell will be directing this afternoon’s selections: “Wit and Wisdom” - a collection of timeless humorous stories and "The Lost Ring" episode from the “My Friend Irma” series - an amusing early ‘50s radio play.
Reader's theatre is a style of theater in which the actors do not memorize their lines. Actors use only vocal expression to help the audience understand the story rather than visual storytelling such as sets, costumes, intricate blocking, and movement. This style of performance of literature was initially appreciated as it emphasized hearing a written text as a new way to understand literature.
All of the Golden Readers actors are above the age of retirement and love the art of presentation.
Tickets are free for all ages and will be required as seating is assigned. You must sit in the seat shown on your ticket.
Best for age 13 and above.Length is one hour and 15 minutes.
